Dum Dum Girls' brand new debut album "I Will Be" (Subpop) just came out yesterday and is already causing quite the commotion. Mastered by Joe LaPorta, "I Will Be" is a throw back to 60's girl group nostalgia with a punk swagger--- Think The Ronettes meets The Ramones.
The album was produced by the legendary Richard Gottehrer(who co-wrote "My Boyfriend's Back" and produced artists such as The Go-Go's and Blondie) and engineered/mixed by Alonzo Vargas.
One of our fave albums this year thus far- you can buy the album here. Watch the video for the single "Jail La La".
Just a few months after their critically acclaimed album "Teen Dream" (Subpop), Beach House are getting ready to release a new 12" for their single "Zebra". The new EP will include a UK radio edit of the title track, 2 new tracks and a dreamy remix of "10 Mile Stereo" aptly titled the "Cough Syrup Remix". The EP was produced & mixed by Chris Coady (who also worked on their recent album) and is bound to fulfill your Beach House crave (if you still haven't had enough of them!)

The Lodge recently mastered a powerful album for The Killian Mansfield Foundation (KMF) whose mission is to empower children with cancer & other serious illnesses through integrative health care dedicated to treating the whole child mind, ...body & spirit.
Killian Mansfield (7/9/1993 - 8/20/2009) was a young man with a huge heart & a sincere love of music (particularly the ukulele) who died Aug. 20 after a five-year battle with synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer.
Thanks to Ralph Legnini, an incredible producer/engineer, Killian was able to realize his life long dream and release an album of ukulele music, “Somewhere Else,” days before his death. The album was recorded between a long hospitalization last winter and entering hospice care this past spring, and proceeds from its sale are benefiting the foundation’s cause. The album is available on iTunes and Amazon.com.
This is a beautiful album that includes incredible performances by Dr. John, Levon Helm, Todd Rundgren, John Sebastian & MORE! Please go out and buy this album, you will not regret it.

Here at The Lodge, we are all massive Sondre Lerche fans. It can't be denied, he is one talented guy...and he's only 26 years old!! Hailing from Norway, Lerche blasted on the music scene in 2004 and hit it big with music listeners who loved his Chet Baker-y velvet vocals fused with folky pop sensibilities. One of our favorite new bands that we've worked with this year, Elizabeth & The Catapult (Verve Music) just released their new album "Taller Children" this week and spanking new video for the single. Makes you look at things a little differently doesn't it?
White Denim (Full Time Hobby) are a band from Austin, TX that just make some damn good music. It's kind of hard to describe but think of it as part 13th Floor Elevators, part Led Zep with a dash of The White Stripes. Lots of fuzzed out guitars, brash vocals, B3 Hammond & all round 60's psychedelic inspired goodness.
They've come back with a new album "Fits" that was mastered at The Lodge by Emily Lazar & Joe LaPorta and it will be released on June 22nd. Their first single is "I Start To Run" and is accompanied by a great video that you ought to take a look at.

"Follow My Voice: With the Music of Hedwig" is an incredible documentary that I would highly recommend everyone to see. This emotional film follows the compelling & courageous stories of four students at New York's controversial Harvey Milk School with a unique chronicle of the yearlong creation of the compilation album"Wig in a Box". Along with John Cameron Mitchell(creator of cult classic film & Broadway musical) "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and an army of some of the top indie rock artists, came together to create a tribute album benefiting the Hetrick-Martin Institute. The institute is home of the Harvey Milk High School- the first accredited high school in the country for LGBTQ youth.
The album was mastered right here at The Lodge by Emily Lazar, and coincidentally The Lodge is located in the same building as the school!
Follow My Voice offers a powerful look at this unlikely intersection of youth, gender and rock. The album includes Yoko Ono, Rufus Wainwright, Spoon, Cyndi Lauper, Ben Folds, Ben Lee, The Breeders, Ben Kweller, Jonathan Richman, The Polyphonic Spree, Frank Black, Yo La Tengo, John Cameron Mitchell, They Might Be Giants and more. The Lodge and Emily even have a small cameo appearance in the film!
The school became the subject of international news upon receiving accreditation and financial support from NYC. A furious controversy over public funding ignited a greater self-determination from the kids and a deeper commitment from the artists who them-selves know what it's like to be outside the mainstream. All proceeds from the album went to the school.
Indie duo Matt & Kim have created quite a stir with their ballsy new video "Lessons Learned". The album was mastered right here at The Lodge by Engineer Joe LaPorta...

Think Roald Dahl meets Jon Brion meets Aimee Mann meets Debussy and you've got yourself the awesomeness that is Elizabeth & The Catapult. Comprised of 3 former Berkley students: Elizabeth Ziman (Keys & Vocals), Danny Molad (Drums) and Peter Lalish (Guitar) met at a crazed college party one night and the rest was music history. Elizabeth & The Catapult are pure indie music goodness with a knack for writing wickedly charming pop gems like "Momma's Boy" and "Taller Children".
The band was busy at The Lodge mastering their new album "Taller Children" (Verve Music Records) with Mastering Engineer Emily Lazar, and Assistant Joe LaPorta. And while Ziman was not there due to a terrible case of the cold, she was definitely there in spirit!
