Lodge Artists Debut Limited Edition Vinyl for Record Store Day!!

Today is officially Record Store Day and we are psyched!! Over the past several months, The Lodge has been gearing up for April 19, working with artists Garbage, Sky Ferreira, and Hamilton Leithauser in pursuit of releasing the most amazing limited edition vinyl exclusively for Record Store Day 2014.

Conceived in 2007 by a group of record storeowners and staff, they wanted to spread the word about their indie shops and vibey culture. Now every third Saturday in April, local record stores all over the world participate in special events that celebrate local and independent record stores!

Everyone can agree, the most exciting part of Record Store Day is the limited edition titles which are released exclusively to RSD participating indie stores around the world. Some vinyls are released region specific and some super limited edition.  Garbage will be releasing an ‘RSD First’ 10” vinyl debut of tracks “Girls Talk Shit” (featuring Brody Dalle) and “Time Will Tell.” Hamilton Leithauser, of The Walkmen, will also be releasing new music, an ‘RSD Exclusive’ 7” vinyl of his hit single “Alexandra.” Sky Ferreira will be immortalized on 12” as she re-releases a picture disc of her debut album Night Time My Time.

Garbage Master First Release In 7 Years With The Lodge

After a 7 year hiatus, 90's alt rockers Garbage are set to release their first studio album since 2005 titled "Not Your Kind of People" on May 15th, 2012. Garbage drummer/legendary Grammy nominated producer Butch Vig (Foo Fighters, Green Day, Nirvana) produced the album with the band and mixed it with Billy Bush.  The album was mastered by Emily Lazar and her team at The Lodge!

In an interview with Rolling Stone in October, Butch Vig explained, "We got together with no agenda other than to just jam a little bit, f--- around and see what we came up with, and it was inspiring. I think you can hear some energy and a vibe in the tracks that sounds refreshing, a little bit more to me like the first two records."

Garbage launched their own record label STUNVOLUME in anticipation of the release and plan on a massive tour featuring dates across North America and Europe. The band just released a video for their first single "Blood for Poppies" which you can watch below. Enjoy!

You can also watch a great video of the band discussing their long awaited return to the music scene featuring some great album snippets!

Against Me! Masters "White Crosses" at The Lodge

Gainesville's Against Me! has returned to The Lodge to master their second major label record, "White Crosses" (Sire), with Chief Mastering Engineer Emily Lazar and Mastering Engineer Joe LaPorta. The latest project, produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage), will be released on June 7th and 8th this summer .

Against Me!, which started off with just Tom Gabel and an acoustic guitar, has evolved over the past thirteen years through different permutations of band members and record labels to become the internationally-loved punk rockers they are today. The band currently consists of front man and guitarist, Tom Gabel, guitarist James Bowman, bassist Andrew Seward, and drummer George Rebello and has found a home at Sire Records.

For the latest, "White Crosses," the band has returned to Nevermind producer, and the man responsible for their 2007, "New Wave," Butch Vig. Aside from his production fame, Vig is also known for his work as drummer of the Post-Grunge, alternative rock group Garbage, whose 2005 Bleed Like Me and 2007 Absolute Garbage were mastered at The Lodge.

As a preview to "White Crosses," Against Me! has already released a video for "Rapid Decompression" and as well as an EP, "I Was A Teenage Anarchist," featuring two songs from the album and two bonus b-side tracks. The band begins their summer tour of North America in Orlando, Florida on June 15th, so be sure to check them out!
