Roc Marciano's "Marcberg" Mastered at The Lodge!

Debuting nearly a decade ago as a member of the infamous hip-hop group the Flipmode Squad, Roc Marciano is showing no signs of slowing down. His 2010 release "Marcberg" has been met with heavy praise from hip-hop heads and critics alike since its release on Fat Beats Records in May.

Yet another Fat Beats album mastered by Joe LaPorta (others including KRS-One & True Master's "Meta-Historical" and Pseudo Slang's "We'll Keep Looking" ) "Marcberg" plays like an honest, grimy, early 90's hip-hop record, without at all sounding outdated. Read Pitchfork's extensive review here (rated 8.1 / 10!), and don't forget to pick it up at a store near you!

KRS-One & True Master Bring "Meta-Historical" To The Lodge

Hip hop pioneers KRS-One and True Master teamed up for a phenomenal new album, "Meta-Historical" (Fat Beat Records) available August 31, 2010. The album was mastered at The Lodge by Mastering Engineer Joe LaPorta.

"Meta-Historical"marks the first collaboration between legendary emcee KRS-One and producer/Wu-Tang Clan affiliate True Master. Arguably one of the genre's most influential artists, KRS-One is famous for his involvement with Boogie Down Productions and his countless progressive, political and socially conscious music/books he has released over the span of his 20-year career. An icon in his own right, True Master has received production credits for such definitive albums as Ghostface Killah's "Iron Man," Ol' Dirty Bastard's "Return to the 36 Chambers," Wu-Tang Clan's "Wu-Tang Forever," and many more. The upcoming "Meta-Historical" presents a tactful combination of KRS-One's potent lyrical stabs, True Master's edgy signature beats and guest appearances by Wu Members Cappadonna and The RZA, who mastered his 2003 "Birth of a Prince" with Emily Lazar at The Lodge.

"Meta-Historical" is the latest in a string of Fat Beats Records released mastered by Joe LaPorta (including new albums by Roc Marciano, Pseudo Slang, and the Trinity Project). Sure to be an instant modern classic, look for "Meta-Historical" in stores near you this August 31!
