Sia Unveils Powerful New Album: 1000 Forms of Fear

The incredibly talented Sia Furler has just released her sixth studio album, 1000 Forms of Fear. The Australian born singer/songwriter has written incredible chart-topping tracks for industry giants, such as Rihanna “Diamonds,” Beyonce “Pretty Hurts” and David Guetta “Titanium.”

1000 Forms of Fear, released July 8 on RCA Records, was written and produced by an all-star lineup including Sia herself, legendary hit-makers, Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, P!nk), Diplo (Major Lazer, Beyonce) and Jesse Shatkin (Katy Perry, Ke$ha). The album was mixed by Manny Marroquin. 1000 Forms of Fear was mastered at The Lodge by Chief Mastering Engineer, Emily Lazar (assisted by Rich Morales). Sia, a longtime client of The Lodge, mastered previous releases, Colour the Small One and Lady Croissant with Lazar.

The album cover, depicting her signature platinum blonde bob, sans visage, is significant, as she rarely shows her face during performances. But make no mistake; Sia’s skill level is insane – in both her creative songwriting, as well as her vocal abilities.

Throughout the album, Sia explores her past struggles with alcohol/substance abuse, and no song hits quite as hard as pop-anthem, “Chandelier.”  The video, which received over 1,000,000 views within 24 hours on YouTube, features Maddie Ziegler (of Dance Moms) in a nude bodysuit and blonde “Sia wig” dancing her heart out in an old dilapidated apartment. Various artistic versions of the video have been performed live on national television shows such as Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Seth Meyers, featuring an unforgettable rendition including Lena Dunham lip-synching while Sia sang facedown on a mattress.

The single "Elastic Heart" was also an instant hit when it debuted back in October 2013 on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (RCA Records, Republic Records, Lions Gate Entertainment) and was received as one of the best tracks on the album.

In her home country, 1000 Forms of Fear has already climbed to the top of the Australian iTunes Charts and the album is on its way to topping American iTunes Charts as well.
